About Uzbekistan-Japan Friendship Association

To develop cultural and educational relations between Uzbekistan and Japan, on March 25, 1999 a meeting of Uzbekistan-Japan Friendship Association founders (hereinafter referred to as the Association)was held. During this meeting, the Charter of the Association was approved and registered with the Ministry of Justice (No. 374 dated June 23, 1999).

The main goals and activities of the Company are:

  • regular disclosure of our rich history, culture, literature and art to the Japanese public;

  • establishment and development of international cultural and educational ties supported by the UN, UNESCO and other international organizations;

  • holding conferences, symposia, seminars in Japan on cultural and educational relations. Introduction of Uzbekistan's achievements in culture, art, science and education to the Japanese people.

The Association is a self-governing, self-funded non-governmental organization that operates independently and is included in the Council of friendship and educational relations of Uzbekistan with foreign countries.

The members of the Association can be the citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, members of enterprises, associations, as well as citizens of other states and stateless persons who voluntarily enter thereto by accepting the Charter and stating their wishes in writing.

Number of members of Association according to the Charter is at least 25 persons. The meeting of the Association members is held once a year.

The duties of the Association members include approval of the Charter, election for three years of the Chairman, the Management Board (7 persons), the Audit Commission (3 persons) and the Executive Director from among the members.

  • The Chairman of the Association provides overall management.

  • The Management Board includes the most active members of the Association.

  • The Executive Director is an authorized person of the Association and reports to the Chairman of the Company, implements current work according to the Charter.
